St Luke's English department is one of the most successful and high achieving faculties in the college.

During their lessons, students will receive a varied and engaging set of learning experiences. Traditional and classical texts such as novels, poems and short stories are studied, but additionally, students have the opportunity to explore less traditional types of texts such as film, web pages and advertisements. All students get the chance to have an active approach to their learning and are given opportunities throughout lessons to acquire skills in an innovative and exciting way.

St Luke's English department has an extremely dedicated, highly motivated and skilled staff, all of whom are committed to educating in a rich, varied and engaging set of styles in order to inspire and enthuse our learners. Our core ethos in the English department is that we instill in our students not only the skills they need, but most importantly a respect and love for the subject.
