The Science Department has ten full time teachers and is supported by three technicians and specialist teaching assistants.
It is our aim to stimulate curiosity, interest and enjoyment in science and an interest in, and the desire to care for, our environment. We also aim to develop abilities and skills that are relevant to the study and practice of science, are useful in everyday life and encourage safe working practice.

We will meet these aims by well designed studies of experimental and practical science, giving a worthwhile educational experience for all students whether or not they go on to study science beyond this level. In particular students will acquire knowledge and understanding of concepts, principles and applications of Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
