I am delighted to have taken on the role of Deputy Principal at St Luke's this year and look forward to working closely with our dedicated team of staff, governors and volunteers to provide the very best opportunities for our students. My role involves leading on all aspects of the College's pastoral programme including how we celebrate the extraordinary success of our students and manage behaviour in an environment of restorative justice.
The pastoral team are a dedicated group of highly qualified professionals who are all exceptional in the work that they do to keep our students safe, happy and healthy. The pastoral programme, supported by our amazing Chaplains, is second to none and compliments the experiences and knowledge that our students gain in their curriculum subject areas.
I also have the absolute pleasure of leading on our sports specialism and am delighted to have the opportunity to work with a range of PE and sport professionals who all share our vision of ensuring that every child is Fit to Succeed and enjoys being active. Our partnership work with Exercise Science Consult Ltd, Exeter Gymnastics Club, Exeter City and Ocean Physio have led to us being one of the most innovative state schools in the country in terms of provision and support for talented young athletes. We are very proud of this but even more proud of the fact that we provide opportunities for every single student to participate, perform and lead in sport.
Finally, my work this year will continue to focus on moving our school to an Academy school. This is an exciting opportunity for us all and I look forward to working alongside colleagues to achieve this in the very near future.
St Luke's is an amazing place. A place of happiness, enjoyment, passion and spirit. Our students are given every opportunity to succeed and my only hope is that every single one of them grabs the opportunities that they are given and learn from them all.
